REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Following is a list of representative assignments selected from among the hundreds of matters successfully handled by Riverbend Group search consultants over the past two-plus decades (including in their prior executive search positions with other companies):

Merger of a multi-office group of international transactions, trade, litigation and tax lawyers into another large national law firm, resulting in a very significant expansion of the client firm’s international practice and the opening of its first foreign offices;

Confidential representation and placement of a prominent international corporate attorney as an equity partner in the New York office of a premier East Coast-based law firm, where he heads a subgroup of the firm’s growing international practice;

Recruitment and placement on the same day of two former U.S. Supreme Court law clerks (one of whom graduated first in his class from Harvard Law School) as mid-level litigation associates with the Washington office of a top-tier New York-based international law firm; also representation and placement of a former law clerk to the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court as Of Counsel (now Shareholder) in an expanding Pennsylvania-based national law firm;

Recruitment and placement of a former law firm telecommunications associate as Vice President (later Senior Vice President) of a large Northern Virginia-based wireless telecommunications trade association;

Representation of a New York-based Asian practice group confronting major client conflicts in its move to a national law firm client rated #2 by Fortune Magazine on that publication’s annual list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For";

Recruitment and placement of several top tax partners and associates with the Washington, D.C. office of a mid-sized national law firm known for its premier global tax practice;

Representation (in some cases exclusive) of various U.S. and State Senators and Members of Congress; federal, state and international tribunal judges and arbitrators; Ambassadors (both to, and representing, the U.S.); a former Prime Minister of a country authorized to practice law in the U.S.; federal agency General Counsels and Deputy General Counsels; Assistant Attorneys General; a U.S. Presidential Cabinet member; and other top officials from Treasury/IRS, Customs, EPA, CIA, DOJ, the White House, etc., in their confidential job searches (as well as discussion of specific client opportunities with other past high level government officials, including a former U.S. Attorney General and a former U.S. Solicitor General);

Outplacement/transition counseling for several corporate attorneys on behalf of a giant international telecommunications company forced to significantly reduce its legal staff;

Recruitment and placement of a Washington, D.C. attorney as a senior tax litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of a large international law firm, followed by confidential marketing and placement of that attorney’s spouse as an associate with a top Los Angeles-area tax controversy and litigation boutique;

Representation and placement of a Scottish attorney (an Oxford University law school graduate) as an energy transactions and financial institutions associate in the Washington, D.C. office of a growing mid-sized national law firm;

Confidential marketing and placement of a highly respected, internationally known environmental partner in the home office of a large Washington, D.C.-based global law firm;

Recruitment and placement of: an internationally prominent white collar litigation partner with a major Chicago-based international law firm client; a top international telecommunications partner as chair of the telecommunications law practice group at a New York-based global law firm; a Russian-American international corporate attorney as counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of a global law firm known for its international practice; and the son of a former President of a major Asian country closely allied with the U.S. as an international corporate associate with a large law firm in New York;

Recruitment and placement of an associate-level international trade attorney from a federal government agency with the Washington office of a large international law firm, where he became a top billing partner;

Recruitment and placement of Ph.D. economists, CPAs and other non-lawyer professionals who provide consulting services to international trade, international tax, and other practice groups at major law and accounting firms;

Successful completion of various searches for tax and tax litigation associates on behalf of top national and international law firms located in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., New York, Atlanta and elsewhere;

Representation and placement of a Customs and international trade partner and associate (now also a partner) in the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. offices of a large national law firm client acclaimed for its unusually good culture and top management;

Recruitment and placement (in cooperation with another search firm) of a highly-credentialed tax attorney / accountant as Editor of a major new series of accounting publications;

Recruitment and placement of approximately seventy commercial and residential real estate professionals, including property managers and property management executives (up to and including the President/CEO level), commercial leasing and sales agents and executives, construction and development managers, building engineers and Directors/Vice Presidents of Engineering, and the General Manager as well as an accountant for a prominent Maryland harness racing track; and

Providing career advice and other assistance to a former astronaut who had been a crew member on NASA Space Shuttle missions, including identification of potential private industry employers.
